Since leaving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in 2006, I have been traveling and participating in various energy infrastructure, financial and technology conferences in the US and Japan. These topics are of great interest to me and I hope to share some insights and views. Here's a brief break down of the subjects discussed at these conferences.
List of Conferences
1. A Macquarie Bank infrastructure conference on what is needed and how does it get built and paid for. Also Federal and state issues.
2) A Euromoney conference [PDF] on financial structures and availabilty of capital. Great presenatations by private equity, project finance, etc.
3) A Berenson/Wall Street Access conference which was a mix of presentaions by new technologies, IOUs and IDCs.
4) A conference in Japan sponsored by Genscape to discuss restructuring around the world, new technologies, the critical need for market transperency for adequate market monitoring. I spoke of what I see around the world and a lot about market monitoring and how tools like Genscape are important. We also discussed new clean coal technology developed by Mitsubishi.
Japan is terrific.
The Euromoney and Berenson conferences were attended by Funds and other investors. Both were in Las Vegas.
I will share my thoughts on these in my next post. Please feel free to leave a comment or email me.
